That is a nice goal. Some of my most prized pieces (to me anyway) took nearly a half a year each to complete. This was working on them each day from 15 min. to four hours. Just a thought. (see A Child's Wonder and Summer's Glory) Remember to make each day count. Andrew
I would love to spend that much time on one drawing, however at this time in my life I am looking to improve my speed while attempting to remain accurate. I am trying to eventually become a concept artist in which time is a constraint. I also wanted to sort of test myself and commit myself to something i've always wanted to do but mostly put off in lieu of other things. Further down the track i would absolutely love to work on my realism and draw larger scale - most of these drawings barely cover an A5-A4 page.
Your drawings are so dreamy and wistful, i love them, especially the ones of your family when your love for them shows evidently. I think the feeling in 'the sleepover' is great - such innocence and happiness

I have worked on realism for the past seven years and have begun to go backwards. I too am attempting to work on some speed now. I am the portrait artist for the Miss Alabama and presently working on her portrait. After working on this for the past couple of months I would love to do a faster sketch. I have to admire the conceptual artists. They seem to work right from the brain. For me I have to have a visual reference, even if this means putting multiple images together in Photoshop. Keep it up!
